Re-Engineered Design Upgrade

We have developed an engineering philosophy known as REDU. This process has been developed in consultation with plant operators who are experiencing issues related to poor performance, equipment obsolescence, or a general difficulty in obtaining spare or replacement components in good time and at reasonable cost.

By taking a worn or broken component, using 3D measuring equipment and in-house design capability Torishima can re-engineer the part to the original design or, in most cases, improve upon it.

REDU, as part of an Asset Management Plan, can extend the design life of existing assets by years, if not decades, this allows for the targeting of financial resources to other critical areas, while maintaining robustness in operational capacity.

Why our REDU philosophy make a difference?

Bringing our expertise to the aftermarket

The knowledge and experience required to provide affordable, long-term solutions can only be found in the manufacturing industry itself. Offering:

  • Extensive and growing database of case studies and RCAs of the global pump market. All makes and types of machinery.
  • Global aftermarket engineering teams networked with access to CFD and FEA analysis software.

Encompass the Entire Asset Life Cycle with REDU

Throughout an asset's life cycle, it may encounter a range of obstacles, such as increased or decreased demand and environmental regulations.

REDU can aid in solving these problems.

To ensure a thorough comprehension by future operators, we provide a large set of materials, including drawings, parts lists, revised performance data and revised operating and O&M Instructions

Safety, Resilience & Regulatory Compliance

In terms of Personal & Operational Safety REDU is a “do it once, do it right” approach intended to reduce the number of interventions required in future and therefore the risks associated with such interventions.

REDU can ensure regulatory compliance on issues such as:

  • Materials of Construction, Energy Efficiency Targets, Carbon Footprint Reduction, Environmental Protection.
