Water transmission and distribution pumping stations are essential to transport water pumped from rivers and purified in treatment plants, or water produced in seawater desalination plants, to cities and homes. In modern life, we take it for granted that clean water will always be available when we turn on the tap.
However, behind this simple act, our pumps are constantly operating at full capacity. For example, some of Torishima's pumps can transport water up to 140 kilometres in the desert regions of the Middle East.
